Elden Ring Nightreign is finally getting its eagerly anticipated duos mod, and players won’t need to wait too much longer.
FromSoftware has confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign will receive a dedicated two-player mode on July 30, 2025, following widespread requests from players since launch. The new feature, called Duo Expeditions, arrives as part of Patch 1.02 and introduces properly balanced co-op support for exactly two players.
At launch, Nightreign only supported solo play or teams of three. The lack of two-player matchmaking became one of the most discussed criticisms from the community, especially among players used to teaming up in pairs.
While the game allowed duos to queue with a third random player, it lacked the tuning and structure needed for a proper two-person run. Patch 1.02 addresses that gap directly by introducing a co-op mode designed from the ground up for duos.
Duos mode comes to Elden Ring Nightreign
In addition to Duo Expeditions, the upcoming update brings several quality-of-life improvements. A new relic filtering system will be added to help players manage their loadouts more efficiently during expeditions.
This marks the second major update for Nightreign since its launch on May 30, 2025. An earlier patch expanded the Wending Grace system and allowed players to carry multiple revive items, while also ensuring all merchants stocked the resource.
FromSoftware has not announced additional content or expansion plans, but Nightreign continues to receive regular updates, with the studio releasing regular updates that help keep the game balanced. Duo Expeditions is set to go live across all platforms on July 30.
