Elden Ring Nightreign released to immense popularity as millions of players dove in with their friends to battle bosses, complete quests, and explore the game’s expansive world. However, two-player mode was missing, and it’s set to arrive soon.
Despite the immense popularity, Elden Ring Nightreign players quickly began demanding the addition of a two-player mode. Currently, you can either play the adventure solo or with two other players, as a group of three. Unfortunately, the adventure wasn’t possible with just two.
Speaking with IGN, Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki revealed that the feature was “simply something that was overlooked during development as just a two-player option,” offering his apologies and revealing that the main focus was to make it a “co-op game for three players, balanced for three players.”
Thankfully, he revealed that it’s something they would be “considering for post-launch support.”
Elden Ring Nightreign will see two-player mode soon
That “post-launch support” has finally been revealed in a post on X by FromSoftware, which is set to finally implement Duo Expeditions.
The post reads, “In addition to the DLC releasing later this year, new additions will be gradually implemented, including enhanced fights against existing Nightlords starting this month, as well as Duo Expeditions at a later date. Thank you for your support.”
This is the first major clue as to the feature’s addition, and it could be coming very soon. We know the DLC is releasing later in the year, and that the enhanced fights against existing Nightlords are coming this month, so it stands to reason that we’ll see Duo Expeditions coming in the next few months, and it looks to be a priority for the developers.
Nevertheless, if the post and apology from the developers are anything to go by, then players won’t have too long to wait before two-player adventures are finally possible in Elden Ring Nightreign.
