A couple of Fortnite cheaters are being subjected to public ridicule after they were forced to apologize to the community for ruining matches by DDoSing streamers and selling cheat software.

Epic Games isn’t fooling around in its fight against cheaters and its creative punishments are proving to be a big hit with Fortnite players who are sick of dealing with nefarious users in their games.

Back in June, the company took drastic action against a cheater by taking them to court, with the judge demanding the player pay $175,000 in damages.

Not every punishment has a monetary value, though. Sometimes, Epic Games would rather subject the cheaters to some public humiliation and that’s exactly what happened on July 14.

Fortnite cheat seller and cyber attacker issue groveling apologies

In a post on X, Epic Games announced it had taken legal action against the two users.

“One sold and used cheats and the other carried out cyber attacks on content creators who were livestreaming gameplay (aka: DDoS attacks). Both have been ordered to stop these activities and are banned from playing Fortnite,” they said.

Furthermore, the two were ordered to post apologies to their social media accounts, where they were met with mockery.

In one, the individual named Zebsi, who had committed DDoS attacks on content creators, apologized for the “harm and damage they caused to the streamers, other players, and Epic Games.”

“I regret my actions and will not be involved in any more DDoS attacks.”

The cheat seller, Mirrored, however, was met with far more ridicule. His apology went viral, receiving over 1.5M views on X.

Mirrored confessed to cheating in tournaments, along with distributing the software. “I’ll face legal action if I sell or distribute cheats again,” he added.

The statement was mocked by users, including the Anti-cheat Police Department watchdog group who remarked, “Epic Games forced a grown man who has a child to publicly apologize for cheating in Fortnite.”

“They put a collar on bro lmao. Dragging his ass down the street on a leash. And all the townsfolk are throwing sh*t and tomatoes at him,” another joked on YouTube.

Considering how some cheaters have had to pay massive fines, some might say these two got off easy, but the humiliation aspect of this punishment surely stings a bit.
