A new month, a new batch of arrivals on all your streaming subscriptions. With Disney+ getting price increases on October 21, I'd recommend getting a lay of the land you’re paying for. In October, the streamer will be getting a standard spread of series from across its channels, as well as the third season of Star Wars: Visions and a new Disney villain-themed anime.
Of course, we also expect some spooky season celebrations. Disney+ has introduced new “scare levels” to its Halloween Collection. Scroll through picks on a scale from “A Little Fear” to “Completely Terrified." We'll likely see more announcements over the course of the month, with my bets on a streaming release for Fantastic Four: First Steps and some surprise Halloween specials. In the meantime, here’s everything we know for sure will be added to Disney+ in October.
Everything Coming to Disney+ in October
Seasonal Highlight: College GameDay
Disney+ will stream select episodes of ESPN’s College GameDay pre-game show throughout the month of October, specifically on Saturday mornings. The rest of the season will stream through ESPN Unlimited and other live TV streaming services (it's complicated).
Ongoing Series With New Episodes
Several series will stream new episodes on Disney+ on a weekly basis through October. Dancing With the Stars is currently in its 34th season, with new episodes arriving on Disney+ every Tuesday. Traveling With Snow Man follows the titular J-Pop group's journey through Japan, with new episodes streaming on Sundays.
K-drama Tempest premiered on Disney+ back in September and will stream its final two episodes at the start of the month. The historical drama The Murky Stream will also continue to stream two new episodes every Friday.
October 1
- Superkitties (S3, All Episodes)
- Tempest (S1, Episodes 8-9)
We’re starting off the month with the most recent season of Superkitties, an animated Disney Jr. series, which, as you can imagine, follows a quartet of super cats tasked with defending their neighborhood in Purrville.
October 2
- Mickey & Minnie's Holiday Songs: Halloween
Some good ol’ classic Disney. This stop-motion musical special is coming to Disney+ after premiering on Disney Jr, with family-friendly hits like Hot Dog! Halloween (a play on the original Hot Dog Song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse).
October 3
- The Balloonist (2025)
- Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983)
- The Murky Stream (S1, Episodes 4-5)
- Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends (S4, New Episodes)
Gaby is working to care for her son and ailing mother when a moody air balloon pilot crash lands in her chicken coop in The Balloonist (De ballonvaarder), the first Dutch Disney+ original movie. The streamer is also getting the fourth season of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, which aired on Disney Jr. earlier this year.
Disney announced the streaming release date for Something Wicked This Way Comes last month. The dark fantasy film Disney produced back in 1983 hasn’t been available anywhere on streaming (until now).
October 4
- College GameDay (ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN+) - 9am ET
- Halloween Wars (Three Seasons)
The Food Network reality show that technically spins off from series like Cake Wars, Disney+ will be picking up three seasons of the spooky-themed cooking competition Halloween Wars.
October 5
- Kiff (Halloween Episode)
- Traveling With Snow Man (S1, Episode 7)
The Disney Channel show Kiff is one of the first we know of to be getting a Halloween special, arriving on the streaming service toward the beginning of the month.
October 7
- Dancing With the Stars (S34, Episode 4)
October 8
- Wizards Beyond Waverley Place (S2, 10 Episodes)
The second season of the Wizards of Waverley Place reboot is hitting Disney+ while airing on the Disney Channel. All 10 episodes will arrive on streaming at the same time.
October 10
- The Murky Stream (S1, Episodes 6-7)
October 11
- College GameDay (ESPN, ESPNU) - 9am ET
- Halloween Baking Championship (Three Seasons)
Another reality series from the Food Network, Halloween Baking Championship features themed challenges like creating a haunted house cake.
October 14
- Dancing With the Stars (S34, Episode 5)
October 15
- Electric Bloom (S1, Episode 16-19)
- Vampirina: Teenage Vampire (S1, All Episodes)
A new live action Disney+ series based on the Vampirina Ballerina books, which Disney previously adapted as an animated series. The show follows titular tween bloodsucker Vampirina as she leaves Transylvania to attend a performing arts school with humans. A new batch of episodes from another musical tween show, Electric Bloom, will also arrive on the service.
October 17
- The Murky Stream (S1, Episodes 8-9)
- Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up!
This Disney special unites the super squads from Spidey and Iron Man’s individual “Amazing Friends” series.
October 18
- Brittany Murphy: An ID Mystery
- College GameDay (ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN+) - 9am ET
October 19
- NWSL: Angel City FC vs. Portland Thorns FC (ESPN, ESPN+) - 5pm ET
- Traveling with Snow Man (S1, Episode 8)
ABC will be presenting several National Women’s Soccer League games this season across Disney’s streaming platforms. Disney+ will specifically stream the Angel City vs. Portland Thorns match-up on October 19, a nice complement to the Angel City docu-series streaming on Hulu.
October 21
- Dancing With the Stars (S34, Episode 6)
October 24
- LEGO Frozen: Operations Puffins
This new animated special follows Olaf, with Josh Gad returning to voice the iconic snowman, as he tries to make his own castle between Frozen and Frozen II. The brick-building giant previously went to Arendelle for the 2016 special LEGO Disney Frozen: Northern Lights, and has released a steady stream of Frozen-themed LEGO sets since the first movie.
October 25
- College GameDay (ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN+) - 9am ET
October 26
- Traveling With Snow Man (S1, Episode 9)
October 28
- Dancing With the Stars (S34, Episode 7)
October 29
- Star Wars: Visions (S3, All Episodes)
- Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation (S1, Episode 1)
The animated anthology series and one of the more well-received Star Wars projects in recent years, Star Wars: Visions is returning for a third “Volume” on October 29. The upcoming season will return to the form of its first volume, which IGN’s review described as “an action-packed jaunt through the Star Wars universe that puts a new spin on the well-worn franchise.” All nine episodes were produced by traditional Japanese anime studios like Trigger (Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia) and Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-Pass).
Disney+ will also premiere Disney: Twisted Wonderland, a new anime based on the mobile game of the same name. The show, which is a collaboration between Walt Disney Japan and Aniplex, is already slated for three seasons.
Disney News: Prices Increasing on October 21
Disney+ is, unfortunately, once again raising prices this month. They did the same thing last year, so it seems like October is their go-to time of year to make the switch. The short story is most plans (including both standalone subscriptions and bundles) are increasing by $2-$3, like the Disney+/Hulu bundle with ads going from $10.99/month to $12.99/month.
These price increases all go into effect on October 21, making October 20 your last chance to back out or stock up on subs at the lower price.
You can see the full breakdown of price increases here. One of the only plans that isn’t affected is the new Disney+ bundle with ESPN Unlimited, with a discount still available for new subscribers until January.
