Evil Dead Burn is the next standalone movie in Sam Raimi’s horror franchise after 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, and it recently finished filming.
The deadites have been torturing audiences for over 40 years after they first shuffled into theaters back in 1981. The earlier Evil Dead entries are considered as some of the best horror movies ever made thanks to their uniquely gory take on the undead.
But Raimi has taken a backseat for the previous two movies, allowing newer directors to add new flavors of terror into the iconic series. Fede Alvarez’s 2013 Evil Dead rebooted things with a visceral, terrifying approach to the typical cabin in the woods formula, while Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise took the deadites into an urban setting.
Now, newcomer Sébastien Vaniček is taking over the reins for Evil Dead Burn – here’s what we know about the sequel.
The deadites will return to the big screen soon, because Evil Dead Burn will be released on July 24, 2026.
Who’s in Evil Dead Burn?
Evil Dead Burn will be led by Souheila Yacoub as Alice, alongside Daredevil: Born Again and Wednesday star Hunter Doohan and Night Agent alumni Luciane Buchanan as Thya. Here’s the rest of the cast:
- Tandi Wright as Susan
- George Pullar as Will
- Errol Shand as Edgar
- Maude Dauvey as Polly
- Keanu Karim as Jared
- Victory Ndukwe as Victor
It’s produced by Raimi, Cronin, and Ash Williams himself: Bruce Campbell. But don’t expect a cameo from everyone’s favorite hapless chainsaw-wielding goofball, because in 2023 Campbell said he’d only return to the character if Raimi was directing.
What’s the plot of Evil Dead Burn?
Unsurprisingly, Warner Bros. Pictures is keeping the Evil Dead Burn plot locked down tighter than the Necronomicon, so we know nothing about what to expect from the sequel aside from the fact that it’ll include deadites and gore — because it wouldn’t be Evil Dead without them!
In 2024, Vaniček teased what to expect from his slice of the franchise, telling Konbini, “I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty movie, a movie that hurts, from which you come out tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside — it will be cathartic.”
Is there a trailer for Evil Dead Burn?
There isn’t a trailer for Evil Dead Burn, but Vaniček took to Instagram in October to announce that filming had wrapped. The post revealed an intense behind-the-scenes clip where someone repeatedly slams a metal stove into something while screaming from the top of their lungs.
The sickening thuds just keep going, which indicates this is going to be a brutal experience.
