A gaming expert believes Rockstar Games has done enough to “stall” conversations about GTA 6 and further leaks after the massive influx of new information.
At the start of May, Rockstar Games delivered a dagger to Grand Theft Auto fans, announcing that GTA 6 would be delayed until May 26, 2026.
However, it wasn’t all bad news. After the announcement of the delay, Rockstar released the long-awaited second trailer and close to 100 new screenshots of the game. Those new looks at GTA 6 included fresh characters, new locations, and even hints about the missions that players will face.
They also acknowledged the mass of leaks that had come to that point too, with Jason even poking fun at needing to fix his home’s roof because of leaks in the trailer.
GTA 6 hype ‘stalled’ until later this year
According to George Osborn, the creator and editor of Video Games Industry Memo, Rockstar’s big influx of new details has done enough to “stall” conversations about fans needing more.
“By putting out a pretty extensive trailer that includes a lot of what’s going to be in the game in terms of the key narrative details, how the world looks and feels, I think it’s done enough to stall too many more conversations about it for now,” he told Indy100.
“As we get towards the end of the year, we’re going to start hearing more because we’ll start to get towards the pre-order window based on the May release date.”
Some impatient fans have already started speculating on when a third trailer might release, or when Rockstar will announce special editions of the game.
As Osborn hints at, that might start come together in late December, but that’s not confirmed. So, we’ll just have to wait for more from Rockstar.
