As revealed at this past July’s San Diego Comic-Con, Family Guy’s Halloween and Holiday specials are returning exclusively to Hulu this year.
The Halloween special, the first of the two Hulu Exclusive specials, will premiere Monday, October 6 on Hulu.
The Halloween special, entitled “A Little Fright Music,” sees Brian and Stewie realize there is a shortage of quality Halloween songs, according to the official plot synopsis, “so they set out to write a hit, and Peter and the guys discover that lying about trick or treating can have deadly consequences.”
"One day in the writers room we realized that no animated show had ever done a Halloween special -- besides The Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors I through XXXIV -- so we thought, let's be the XXXVth!,” Family Guy Executive Producers/Showrunners Rich Appel & Alec Sulkin said in a statement to IGN.
“We also realized that while everyone had a favorite Christmas song, and a ton to pick from, nobody really had a favorite Halloween song. And we thought maybe we could actually be the first there. Plus, given the very limited competition, ours would have a better chance becoming everyone's favorite.”
Season 24 of Family Guy will premiere in 2026 on FOX, and stream on Hulu.
