FaZe Rug is hitting back at critical viewers who lashed out at him after his brother, fellow influencer Brawadis, got the police called on him for refusing to stop filming in a Starbucks.

FaZe Rug and Brawadis are two internet-famous brothers with a combined following of over 30 million YouTube subscribers.

While Rug is largely focused on gaming, Brawadis’ content is more varied, including prank videos, trying viral trends and ‘hacks,’ and other such ideas.

In August 2025, Brawadis was filming a video trying “exotic” fast-food drinks when he went inside a Starbucks to get a Refresher. Upon noticing his cameraman, an employee urged him to stop filming, saying it was to protect customers’ privacy.

Cops called as Brawadis refuses to leave Starbucks

Brawadis, however, argued that he was only showing his own face and not anyone else in the establishment. After a lengthy back-and-forth with the worker, who identified themselves as the supervisor on staff that day, a security guard was called to the scene, who ushered the YouTuber and his cameraman out of the cafe while they waited for police to arrive.

While Brawadis was waiting, two fans ordered a drink on his behalf, which he was able to get after speaking with police. He then left the cafe and apologized for “wasting” the cops’ time, one of whom made it clear to the YouTuber that he “couldn’t care less what you do here.”

He also apologized to the security guard, who brushed him off with a, “Thank you, I’m glad you got your drink. Have a good day.”

At the end of his video, Brawadis admitted that there were “probably some things I said at the Starbucks that were a little disrespectful or out of line a little bit,” but maintained his stance that the Starbucks supervisor was “purposefully trying to push [his] buttons.”

FaZe Rug breaks silence on brother’s Starbucks controversy

It didn’t take long for criticism to start piling up online. Brawadis deleted his video not long after it was posted, but re-uploads and clips from the altercation quickly made their way across social media.

That criticism eventually made its way to FaZe Rug, who addressed the incident during a Twitch stream, in which he distanced himself from his brother’s actions and clarified that he would never engage in such behavior.

“I was not too happy about it, to be honest,” he admitted. “I can’t control what people say or do. It is what it is. It’s the only thing I wanna say, because I see some people comment, ‘This is gonna reflect badly on Rug,’ because of something that someone related to me does.

“It just sucks, because I’m not like that. I’m just not that type of person. I just don’t do stuff like that. I’m just completely different. I’m in my own lane. I am who I am, and just because we’re related doesn’t mean we share the same opinions and do the same things.”

Commenters are generally unhappy with Brawadis’ behavior toward the Starbucks employee, and Brawadis himself has not yet published a statement responding to the backlash against him.
