The FBI has released new information in the bid to finally solve the murder of a man playing Pokémon Go in 2016.
In August 2016, 20-year-old Calvin Riley was shot while playing Pokémon Go with a friend in Aquatic Park, San Francisco. The death of Ridley, who was a pitcher for the Delta College Mustangs in Stockton, California, was quickly investigated by authorities.
Local law enforcement had managed to identify one suspect and two vehicles that were of interest to them. The Riley family, alongside the US Park Police, offered up a $110,000 reward for any information that might assist their investigation.
However, almost 10 years on, no one has been charged with Ridley’s murder, and the search has continued. The FBI has also issued new information about the case in the hopes of generating new leads to help them find the killer.
FBI releases fresh details on Pokémon Go murder
This new information, which includes two sketches of two suspects, was released on 24, as the FBI revealed that the second suspect, a bald man, wearing glasses, and sporting a lengthy beard, was “observed recording video at the crime scene.”
Law enforcement has also noted that the initial suspect was accompanied by a blonde female. However, there is no sketch or imagery of her.
Additionally, two suspicious vehicles were identified: one 2015 white Hyundai Sonata, and one dark-colored Audi A3 Wagon. Both vehicles arrived together shortly before the homicide and departed in tandem immediately after the homicide.
They are offering a $25,000 reward for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspects involved.
