Finn Wolfhard “spoiled” Stranger Things during 2023 talk show appearance

Stranger Things is over, meaning we know the fate of the show’s many beloved characters. But if you were watching Finn Wolfhard on Jimmy Fallon in 2023, you’d already have a good sense of what happens to one specific Hawkins hero.

The Stranger Thing finale delivered tragic death, banging tunes, and annoying plot holes, all while fixing Netflix’s biggest problem.

And while the climax didn’t set up a Season 6, there are plans afoot for multiple Stranger Things spinoffs, including animated series Tales From ’85.

But when discussing the future of the franchise back in 2023, star Finn Wolfhard accidentally dropped a massive hint as to where it was all heading. Meaning SPOILERS ahead…

Finn Wolfhard revealed Eleven’s fate three years ago

The Stranger Things finale ended in one of two ways for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). She’s either trapped in the Upside Down, sacrificing herself to save her friends, or she used her powers to escape, and is now hiding out in a small town, where Mike claims she has found peace and happiness.

Either way, Eleven is out there somewhere, which is exactly what Finn Wolfhard said during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon way back in 2023.

Wolfhard revealed that when speculating about spinoffs, he joked, “They’re going to have us back in 20 years. We’re all going to be like fat and old and being like ‘Eleven, where are you?'”

At which point his voice trailed off and he added: “You know, that kind-of thing.” But it’s too late, the damage is done, meaning if fans were paying attention, they’d know that Eleven would be MIA at the very end of the series.

Stranger Things star knows where spinoff is heading

Wolfhard then revealed that he pitched Stranger Things creators the Duffer brothers on where a future story could go from there, and got it right.

He said, “I was like, ‘If you guys are are actually going to do a spinoff, it should be this.’ I said it, and then the Duffers looked at each other, and they looked at me, and they were like, ‘Can we talk to you for a second?’

“They pulled me off and they’re like, ‘That is the idea. Who told you?’ And I was like, ‘No one.’ And they were like, ‘What do you mean? You just like, came up with it?’ And I was like, ‘Well no, I just though of that that would be a cool way to expand.’ And they were like, ‘Okay, well don’t tell anyone!'”
