A bar in Florida has become a TikTok sensation as viewers can’t stop watching the live cameras they have showing off their drunk customers.
Real-time live streams of specific places are not a new thing. There are plenty of websites where you can watch wildlife, weather, and even real-time construction cameras. However, they very rarely go viral.
Yet, there is a bar in Florida – the Elbo Room – that has managed to capture the attention of social media users with its array of live cameras.
The bar, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, has had the live cameras up since 1996, but TikTokers have started treating like a live reality show. They’ll tune in every night to see whats going on and have started sharing highlights.
Elbo Room streams become TikTok’s “favorite show”
One of the most popular clips was posted by TikToker Courtneykcolombo on October 4, as her and her partner called it their “favorite show.”
In the clip, which has racked up almost 2 million views, the TikToker can be heard giving live commentary as patrons of the Elbo Room dance away. She even notes that one particular man is very aware of where the camera is, while his friend wants to leave.
“I saw him last night too and he was getting in my nerves lol,” one viewer said. “I am 37 now with kids and am in bed by 9 lmao. I live through these people now,” another commented.
Other viewers were quick to ask questions about the cameras, including if they have audio. “For $2.99 a month you can have audio. First month is free,” Courtney replied.
“This is the equivalent to when kids watch other kids play with toys on YouTube,” another chimed in.
The Elbo Room isn’t the first bar to offer streams of their customers. It’s pretty widespread in the United States, and even in the UK as well. It’s hard to scroll TikTok live streams and not find someone attempting some midweek Karaoke in London.
Yet, the Florida-based bar is trending like no other with its four cameras.
