An iconic Call of Duty assault rifle is back in the Warzone meta thanks to a buff in Season 4 Reloaded, and you’re going to need to change up your loadouts.
The Warzone meta has been through a few changes in Black Ops 6. At first, the likes of the MCW, Kilo-141, and XM4 dominated the battle royale. However, since Verdansk’s return in Season 3, things have changed.
Now, the likes of the Grau, Ames 85, and Krig C are the top dogs. Assault rifles are perfect for the classic Warzone map due to the number of mid-range fights you’ll find yourself in.
The STG-44, which hass been an iconic AR in CoD over the years, had pretty much fallen off the radar. A number of Warzone gurus had it as an off-meta weapon that was solid, but lacked the necessary power to topple the Krig or even the LC-10.
STG-44 is meta again in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded
Well, the assault rifle has been buffed in Season 4 Reloaded, and according to WhosImmortal, it is “competitive” and meta once again after being “unusable” at one point.
“When you look at something like the Kilo, that is a weapon a lot of players are defulaitng too because its easy to use, its low recoil, its dependable. The STG is right in the mix with that,” he said.
“No, one-to-one, straight up, if you’re landing shots, the Krig is not going to lsoe to an STG consistently. But, you’re not going to hit every single shot in-game. You might be more accurate with an STG than an FFAR.”
As WhosImmortal notes, the STG is “crazy” or “overpowered” in any way, but it more than “holds it own” with the extended damage ranges. Here’s the build:
- Optic: Nydar Model 2023
- Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
- Barrel: Heinrichter C70 Long
- Magazine: 50-round drum
- Ammunition: 7.92x33m High Grain
The STG’s damage was buffed in Season 4 Reloaded, while it’s recoil and and gun kick were both taken down a notch to help players more easily nail shots. So, give it a go.
