Fortnite’s Chapter 6, Season 4 is set to arrive soon and here are all the details you need to know about it, including its theme, possible skins, mechanics, and more.

While Chapter 6, Season 3 has been a blast so far, adding Superman, Robin, and other superhero skins, new POIs, and gameplay additions, like any other season, everything will eventually come to an end.

On the bright side, however, anticipating the next season is always one of the things that the community loves to do considering that devs tend to switch things up and add a plethora of new things for players to enjoy and explore.

With the Superhero-themed season drawing close to its end, you may be wondering what to expect in the next one. Below, we’ve compiled all the details you need to know about the upcoming Chapter 6, Season 4 update.

Chapter 6, Season 4 is set to release on August 7, 2025.

As far as downtime goes, it will start at 1:30 AM ET. Servers will go offline during this time to prepare for the big update, so you won’t be able to launch the game at all. However, you should still be able to download the patch.

Looking at previous updates, the downtime would generally only last a few hours, though this doesn’t rule out the possibility of Epic taking longer than usual to launch the update.

Bug theme

Several leakers have claimed that the next season will feature a theme around bug invasion. If this is accurate, then it’s definitely quite a shift from the current season’s theme.

Some fans speculate that there’s a possibility that this could be linked to the Last Reality season, where an army of aliens, monsters, and other creatures attempt to destroy all the existing realities.

As usual, given that this is still leaked information as of now, do take it with a grain of salt until there’s more official information from Epic.

Potential skins

While devs have yet to unveil details about the next season’s Battle Pass, many are already speculating that, considering the leaked bug invasion theme that’s potentially coming, there’s a chance that we could be seeing some skins from a past survey, including a Mothman skin.

Other speculations point to the ‘Chrome Slone’ skin, which features bug-shaped glasses for Doctor Slone, a spider Cuddle Team Leader, and a new variant of the Cube Queen, among other things.

Mud Mechanic returns

According to multiple well-known leakers, the mud mechanic could be added to the gameplay next season. For the uninitiated, this mechanic was first introduced in the Wilds season, which had a jungle setting on the island.

What this mechanic does is basically allow players to slide faster through mud while also being even more stealthy as they’re hidden from thermal weapons and wildlife.

Companions

Companions, a new type of cosmetic featuring pets that follow players around the island, was initially reported by dataminers to arrive in the Super season. However, not long after this information was revealed, leakers claimed that this new pet mechanic had been delayed, likely releasing in Chapter 6, Season 4.

Krypto, Superman’s dog, was among the rumoured companions to arrive in-game. According to leaks, not only will these pets essentially accompany you, but there are some pretty interesting interactions you may be able to do with them, such as feeding, petting, brushing, and playing minigames.

Fortnitemares event

Considering that a season generally lasts around two and a half months and that the next season starts in early August, the Fortunimares event is expected to arrive in Chapter 6, Season 4, as it’s usually held in October to celebrate the spooky season.

During this time, horror-themed skins tend to return to the Item Shop. Last year, the game brought collabs from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Only time will tell what new skins and content will be added once the event goes live.
