Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is finally getting Proximity Chat for the first time ever, according to two renowned leakers.
Watch out for your shouting or callouts as Fortnite is adding Proximity Chat to its Battle Royale soon, meaning you’ll be heard whenever you’re near another player, should you have it active. Luckily, this also means you can communicate with your teammates, making your fight a little easier.
The leak, as revealed by renowned leakers Wensoing and Loolo_WRLD, explains that “It looks like Proximity Chat is being added to Battle Royale soon,” going on to add that “Epic has separated some Creative Proximity Chat files so they could be included in BR.” Luckily, “it will have a setting to disable and enable it,” if you’re not interested in the feature.
How to disable Proximity Chat in Fortnite
When Proximity Chat is added to Fortnite, you’ll be able to disable or enable the feature. To do so, you’ll need to follow the steps below:
- Head into the Battle Royale mode.
- Open Settings.
- Navigate to Audio.
- From there, find the Proximity Chat.
- Toggle it to your preferred setting.
Another way to help is to select Push To Talk in your Voice Chat. This way, it’ll only pick up your mic when you choose to activate it in-game, making it perfect for a quick callout if needed.
The feature isn’t in Fortnite yet, so this is based on how to do it in all the other Fortnite modes, so it’s pretty likely it’ll be the same here.
