TikToker Ryan Roth has gone viral thanks to his 102-year-old “Labubu Grandma” that is now being memed across social media.

Known for its mischievous grin, rabbit-like ears, and sharp teeth, Labubu has become a viral sensation on TikTok.

The toy, often featured in unboxings and aesthetic displays, has been embraced by celebrities including Blackpink’s Lisa, Rihanna, and Dua Lipa. With over 300 variants and some selling for hundreds of dollars, Labubu has become a symbol of quirky pop culture online.

One of the most recognizable faces of the Labubu trend is a 102-year-old Hungarian grandmother of TikToker Ryan Roth. In a video shared by Roth in June, his grandmother repeated the word “Labubu” with her signature accent after receiving one of the toys as a gift.

However, the internet soon took the meme in a different direction. Edited versions of the original video began circulating, with creators using CapCut effects to give the clip a surreal, almost horror-like twist.

In a TikTok posted on July 9, Roth addressed the situation, sharing that his grandmother had “officially been meme’d” and admitting he was unsure how to explain the internet phenomenon to her. “I don’t even understand Twitter,” he added, reflecting on how fast the wholesome moment turned into viral chaos.

“I’m really confused about what to do about my viral meme’d Grandma,” he said.
