Rockstar Games’ decision to delay GTA 6 caused chaos across the globe, not just with gamers eager to play the anticipated title, but politicians as well.
On November 6, Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA 6 wouldn’t be hitting its planned May 2026 target and would be delayed to November 19, 2026 instead.
Reports have indicated that GTA VI is “complete” and the devs are spending their time polishing the game to make sure it launches without any bugs or glitches to prevent a Cyberpunk 2077 situation.
The news sent shockwaves across the gaming landscape and even made its way to the Polish Parliament as one politician addressed the situation live, fearing that the people may take to the streets over the delay.
Polish parliament labels GTA 6 delay a “huge scandal”
During the session of parliament, a member of the KWiN opposition party (Confederation Liberty and Independence) spoke about GTA 6 being postponed.
“As part of my parliamentary statement, I wanted to inform you about a very disturbing matter. An hour ago, Rockstar Games announced that the release of GTA VI will be postponed until next year. This is a huge scandal,” member of parliament Witold Tumanowicz said.
“Frankly, if people don’t take to the streets after something like this, I don’t know what will happen.”
Amazingly, an MP from a different party, echoed those concerns.
Paweł Szrot from the Law and Justice Party responded to the address saying, “I respect such statements, Representative.”
Szrot further added that he hoped the add-on for Bannerlord, a different video game, wouldn’t get delayed as well.
