Grand Theft Auto fans are already looking to an important date for the next load of information about GTA 6, and many of them only want one thing.
At the start of May, Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 had been delayed. The holiday 2025 release date was out the window, replaced by a concrete date of May 26, 2026.
In the wake of the delay, the Grand Theft Auto developers released the long-awaited second trailer, a whole heap of new screenshots, and details about a host of characters too.
That raft of new information has settled many GTA fans. The demand for more screenshots and details has been “stalled,” for now, but they have pinpointed another key period for when Rockstar may provide more.
GTA 6 fans point to December for next wave of info
Fans are now looking towards December as the potential point where they’ll get a gameplay trailer and, possibly, the start of pre-orders.
“I think they will release a new trailer in December. But honestly, I don’t really care about new trailers. Only the gameplay trailer I’m looking forward to,” one fan said. “I am more excited about gameplay,” another agreed.
“Yesss, maybe December, I hope,” another commented. “Its gotta be December, to make people buy consoles for Christmas,” another chimed in.
Others added that The Game Awards is also happening in December, which would create additional hype around GTA 6’s next move.
As noted, one expert believes that Rockstar’s raft of info in May has “stalled” conversations, but even they believe December holds the key.
“As we get towards the end of the year, we’re going to start hearing more because we’ll start to get towards the pre-order window based on the May release date,” said George Osborn, the creator and editor of Video Games Industry Memo.
