Gaming insider Tom Henderson says Rockstar Games are “confident” that Grand Theft Auto 6 will release in 2026 after he correctly called a delay from May to November.

The release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 has long been the biggest question in gaming. Rockstar initially announced that GTA 6 would drop during the holiday 2025 period, but ultimately delayed it until May 2026.

However, on November 6, the Grand Theft Auto developers announced that the long-awaited game would, actually, release on November 19, 2026, instead of May.

“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” they said about the delay.

Tom Henderson says Rockstar “confident” over GTA 6 releasing in 2026

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson correctly predicted that the game wouldn’t launch in May 2026, and has offered up some more insight into the game’s long-spectulated release.

“Rockstar are confident enough now that it will release this year,” Henderson said on Insider Gaming’s podcast on predictions for 2026.

Henderson also predicted that the game will cost $80, “but they’re going to push $100 with something.” There has long been claims that the industry is waiting for GTA 6 to be priced at $100 so that other games can follow suit.

He also joked that the game will “cause issues with internet infrastructure” because of how many people attempt to download it. However, he isn’t sure that Rockstar will make any changes to their usual pre-load period.

“I’m just wondering, do they need to? Is there any obligation for them to do that because there probably isn’t, right?” he added. “I feel like they’ll just do it whenever they feel like it, and they’ll just sit back and watch the s*it unfold as it happens.”

The Grand Theft Auto creators have been quiet on GTA 6 since announcing the second delay, but they have been under fire for firing around 30 developers, claiming they leaked details about the game.
