Rockstar Games broke their silence on Grand Theft Auto 6 with a new trailer for GTA Online, but they have tried to hide it.
Back in May, Rockstar broke the hearts of millions of Grand Theft Auto fans when they revealed that GTA 6 would be delayed until May 26, 2026. Their reasoning was that they needed more time to deliver the game to the standard that fans are expecting.
Since releasing the second trailer shortly after the delay announcement, they’ve remained pretty silent on all things Grand Theft Auto 6. Take-Two, their publishers, have been left to handle any questions about the release.
So, whenever Rockstar ventures towards talking about GTA 6, it doesn’t take long for the community to pick it up – even when the developers try and bury a hint.
Fresh GTA Online trailer pokes fun at GTA 6 wait
That happened on October 14. Rockstar dropped a new trailer for the upcoming winter update for GTA Online. It is slated to be the final major update for the multiplayer side of GTA 5, finally bringing ownable mansions to the mix.
The video started off with a subtle hint about GTA 6. “I’m afraid our time isn’t up yet,” Dr Friedlander can be heard saying.
However, despite plenty of fans seeing it, Rockstar actually unlisted the video on their YouTube page. So, you cannot watch it without a direct link, and you may have missed it because of how quickly it was shuffled out of view.
The Grand Theft Auto devs have been known to poke fun at fans and their worries over the years, and this is just another example of that.
Many have taken it to assume that things are on target for May and the game won’t be put back to later in 2026.
