GTA 6 is reportedly set to run at 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro, thanks to a collaboration between Sony and Rockstar engineers, and the deal could include exclusive console bundles.
Leaker DetectiveSeeds claims that PlayStation engineers are working directly with Rockstar to optimize GTA 6 for the PS5 Pro, enabling the game to hit a consistent 60 frames per second across multiple graphical settings.
This frame rate boost is said to be exclusive to the PS5 Pro, with the base PS5 not expected to reach that target, although that can change prior to launch.
“GTA 6 has been, and continues to hit 60fps while being optimized for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings,” he wrote. “PS engineers are assisting with the optimization due to the new tech being implemented and rolled out with a current target date of May 2026.”
Leaker claims GTA 6 is only hitting 60 FPS on PS5 Pro
Sony is reportedly prepping a major software update for May 2026, lining up with GTA 6’s expected release window. The leaker also hinted that this Rockstar-Sony partnership could extend beyond GTA 6, possibly enabling 60FPS performance on other upcoming Rockstar titles.
Although it’s unclear what those titles are, leaks have claimed that next-gen ports and updates to Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA IV are on the way.
Adding fuel to the fire, DetectiveSeeds says the Rockstar-PlayStation marketing deal will include multiple PS5 Pro bundles themed around GTA 6. While details are scarce, it sounds like players can expect at least one special edition console package when the game launches.
“The Rockstar/PlayStation marketing deal is what’s allowing, and encouraging this collaboration on optimization,” he said. “Should see several GTA6/PS bundles in the next marketing push.”
While DetectiveSeeds has had credible leaks in the past, including details on the Oblivion Remaster, none of this has been confirmed by Sony or Rockstar, so take this info with a grain of salt.
