An insider who correctly leaked information about Oblivion: Remastered and other titles is warning that GTA 6’s physical release could be pushed back.

GTA 6 is set to finally launch on November 19, 2026, but fans hoping to get their hands on a physical copy could be stuck waiting even longer.

According to a report from Polish site PPE, insider Graczdari says Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, isn’t planning to release a physical edition of GTA 6 at launch.

“We are getting more and more information that the box version will not be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks,” the report says.

GTA 6 physical release could be delayed a full year

As for how long the delay will be, that’s where things get tricky. PPE says there are conflicting reports about when the physical version will eventually launch.

“Some say that the physical release will appear 3-4 weeks after the digital premiere, while others say that this will not happen before the beginning of 2027,” they note.

Interestingly, they end their report stating that they’ll learn more in mid-February. Take-Two’s quarterly earnings call is scheduled for February 3, so we might learn when GTA VI pre-orders finally go live around then.

Delaying physical releases to avoid leaks does make sense given how much-awaited GTA 6 and how many issues Rockstar has already had with info being spoiled.

In addition to the infamous gameplay footage leaks, the studio confirmed that numerous details shared on social media were accurate.

The info includes 700+ enterable buildings, the game’s length, activities, the return of the 6-star Wanted level, and more.

In any case, expect to learn more about GTA 6 in the weeks and months ahead as Rockstar ramps up its marketing push.
