Helldivers 2’s new city has the longest and most absurd name possible

Helldivers 2 just added a city so long and ridiculous, it takes a whopping 16 seconds to read on screen.

Helldivers has never been afraid to get weird. This is a game where dying from friendly fire is part of the fun. Slipping on rocks mid-battle is normal. So when Arrowhead added a mission set in a city with a 60-character name, nobody blinked. If anything, it felt overdue.

Arrowhead just added a new city to Helldivers 2, and it’s called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch II.

I mean, look at the size of that thing. It’s literally forcing a line break right there!

The name is a direct nod to the famously unpronounceable Welsh village. And in true Helldivers fashion, it takes forever to scroll across your mission screen. The entire joke is just… the name. It exists to waste your time in the funniest way possible.

It’s not the first time this name has caused chaos. Weather reporters, late-night hosts, and Google Maps have all tripped over it. Perhaps David Tennant has been the only human capable of fully pronouncing it.

Now it’s part of the Helldivers universe, and somehow even longer. Players loved it. “How do I even pronounce it?” one asked. “As a Welsh Helldiver… I apologise,” joked another. And the most accurate take? “The most important city ever. We can’t lose it.”
