Highguard didn’t exactly get off to the best start, with its playercount quickly dropping following its release. Well, now the website is down, leading many to wonder whether this is the beginning of the end for the PvP shooter. Thankfully, the devs have now responded.
When Highguard launched, its player count skyrocketed to nearly 100,000 as fans dove in to try out the new shooter. However, since then, that playercount has dropped by around 98%, with under 1,000 players in the game at the time of writing.
Following mass redundancies and Highguard’s website going down, fans have begun to wonder if the game is about to be shut down. Well, a developer has now responded to these concerns.
Highguard dev reassures players it isn’t being shut down
One of Highguard’s devs has responded on the game’s Discord, replying with “not sure on the timeframe, but [the website] basically needs to be transferred and simplified. Low priority atm (reputational damage already done). Now we just need to focus on delivering updates and content to improve.”
So, according to the developer, the website going down doesn’t mean the game is too. Instead, their resources are being placed on delivering updates, adding more content, and hopefully getting the playercount back on track.
There’s no timeframe as to when the website will be coming back online, but at least it doesn’t mean the game is going anywhere anytime soon.
