The Boys debuted new Season 5 footage at Comic-Con, that featured Homelander making promises to the American people, and a Seth Rogen cameo.
San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing right now, with Tron, Alien, and Predator panels lighting up Hall H on the Friday (July 25), and Peacemaker and Demon Slayer action set to follow today (July 26).
There was also a Gen V presentation, in advance of Season 2 premiering on Prime Video on September 17, 2025.
And at the end of the event, a teaser for The Boys Season 5 played for attendees, and previewed what’s ahead for the twisted superhero series.
Season 5 of The Boys will be a Supernatural reunion
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke previously created Supernatural, and has featured actors from that series where he can, including Jensen Ackles (as Soldier Boy), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (as Joe Kessler).
The new Season 5 footage featured two more Supernatural alumni, with Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins sharing a brief scene as characters whose identity is currently a mystery.
Variety reports that Seth Rogen – who executive produces the series – also makes a cameo in the trailer.
While the outlet shared that “the most memorable part of the teaser was a powerful declaration by Antony Starr’s Homelander, in which he bellows how ‘this is a safer, more god-fearing nation’ to an unseen crowd.”
There’s also the promise of more Gen V crossover in Season 5 of The Boys, with London Thor popping up as Godolkin University student Jordan Li in another scene.
The Boys will return sometime in 2026. Until then you can check out what lesson the show took from Breaking Bad, and the two characters who will definitely die in Season 5.
