Grounded 2 is finally here, shrinking you and placing you right back on the ground. But, regardless of whether you’ve been here before or are new to the game, grass seeds are still tricky to find.

Just because you find yourself in a park now, it doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. After all, you need to work out a way to get out of that park and survive against all those creepy crawlies. To do that, you need to collect various resources, some of which will help you build tools, and others to help create structures or equipment.

Grass Seeds are one such resource, and even though you find yourself surrounded by the stuff, actually getting the seeds isn’t easy. You can’t exactly head to the store and grab a box of them. So, here’s all you need to know.

Where to find Grass seeds

Thankfully, Grass seeds are everywhere in Grounded 2. All you need to do is look up. They grow on the grass flower stalks above you.

Look for a clump of regular grass, and you’ll have grass seeds. We had the most luck in the north and east of the snack bar.

When you find a grass stalk with flowers on it, approach it with your Omni-Tool as an axe and chop it down. You’ll soon have Grass Seeds falling at your feet.

Uses

Omni-Shovel

Grass Seeds are extremely useful in Grounded 2, especially if you want to build a Shovel upgrade for your Omni-Tool.

To do so, you need to bring the following items to the Ominent Terminal:

  • 350 Science
  • 1 Grass Seed
  • 2 Sprig

Place these in the Terminal, and you’ll have the level one Omni-Shovel. This is a vital tool to help you reveal grubs and so much more.

Green Machine

You can also make a Green Machine a little later on using Grass Seeds. Once you craft a Smoothie Station, you can put your Grass Seeds into the machine to make Green Machine, a smoothie that will offer early-game healing and stamina.

It won’t last you too long into the game, but it’s useful when you’re just getting started.

Plant grass

Outside of creating the Omni-Shovel and the Green Machine, Grass seeds don’t have too many other uses. Of course, you can grow more grass with it, which is nice for the bugs, but it won’t help you too much if you plant it where there’s already grass.

It comes in useful later on in the game when you can plant it where grass isn’t as abundant, helping you carry plants from one place to the other.
