According to leaks, a Gorillaz crossover is coming to Fortnite, bringing skins inspired by the virtual band members.
Nothing is safe when it comes to Fortnite crossovers, as we’ve seen everything from iconic superheroes to internet memes appear in the game in some form. But one of the areas that Epic like to dip into most often is music, with many of the world’s biggest artists showing up over the years.
Now, it looks like another group of musical superstars, albeit virtual ones, is on its way, as leaks have revealed that a Gorillaz collab is on the cards. Here’s everything we know about it so far.
When are Gorillaz coming to Fortnite?
Although nothing has been officially confirmed, the Gorillaz crossover is expected to begin on August 26, 2025, as they are set to headline Festival Season 10. This is according to a leak from Fortnite dataminer ‘Fecooo,’ which has since been picked up by the likes of HYPEX and Shiina.
If true, they will replace Bruno Mars as the star of the show, following in the footsteps of Sabrina Carpenter, Metallica, and more. We should get a full announcement closer to the time, so we’ll be sure to update this section once we know more.
How to get Gorillaz skins in Fortnite
As the Fortnite Festival headliner, Gorillaz skins will be available through the Music Pass. As always, this will cost 1,400 V-Bucks, and give you the chance to earn themed cosmetics, tracks, and, of course, outfits by playing Festival mode.
However, according to another leak from HYPEX, you won’t be able to get the full band this way. They revealed that Murdoc and Russel will be in the Music Pass, while 2D and Noodle will instead be released on the in-game store as a separate purchase.
This is a drastic change from the Metallica crossover, which also brought four different band members, as Hetfield and co. were all part of the pass.
What else is included?
On top of the animated skins for each member, artwork shared by ‘iFireMonkey’ also showed off Murdoc’s Bass and Russel’s Drum Kit, which are set to appear in the Music Pass. It hasn’t been revealed which other rewards will be up for grabs, but we’d expect some of the Gorillaz’s biggest songs as Jam Tracks, such as Clint Eastwood, Stylo, or Dare.
We’ll also have to wait and see what else is included in the store listings for 2-D and Noodle, but it will likely be additional Back Blings, Pickaxes, and Emotes.
