Battlefield 6 is quite a way away, with a release window of anytime before March 2026. However, if you’re feeling that Battlefield itch, then there’s a way for you to experience the upcoming content before it releases, thanks to the playtest.

For a select few, the Battlefield 6 playtest offers a chance to explore the game before it releases. Players get to test out upcoming maps and gameplay, all while EA ensures their servers are able to withstand a high volume of players.

However, these playtests are extremely exclusive, and getting into one isn’t always easy. So, if you want to get involved, here’s all you need to know about the Battlefield 6 playtest.

The Battlefield 6 playtest will begin on Friday, May 23, at 3 am PT and will run for 72 hours, allowing players three days to explore the game. With that in mind, it’ll end on May 26.

For those not using PT, these translate to 6 am ET, 10 am CEST, and 11 am BST.

How to play Battlefield 6 playtest

To be involved with the playtest, you need to register to be a Playtester at Battlefield Labs. That can be done by following this link.

Once you do, you’ll be prompted to sign in and register. Then, it’s simply a waiting game. If you’re chosen to be a playtester for Battlefield 6, then you’ll receive an email and will be able to play. If not, you’ll have to wait for the next opportunity.

Platforms

Thankfully, the Battlefield 6 playtest is available for players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, so most players will be able to join in on the 72-hour adventure.

There’s no word on whether Battlefield 6 will come to the Switch or the Switch 2, but given Battlefield 5 never came to the console, it’s hard to say whether it’ll come to a more powerful Switch 2.

Crossplay

Given the playtest is taking place between multiple platforms, it stands to reason that there will be crossplay, and that it’ll be a feature in the full game.

Whether it can be toggled on or off is yet to be seen.

Do we know what’s in the Battlefield 6 playtest?

There’s not too much information regarding what’s in the Battlefield 6 playtest, but thanks to the announcement post on X, we know that the “primary focus for this test will be to verify server performance and stability with increased player counts throughout a full weekend.”

On top of that, they explained: “During this time, we will have a select group of maps and modes available for play.”

So, it stands to reason that players will be able to explore the new maps and likely the classic All-Out Warfare that many players are used to seeing.
