There’s a Closed Beta on the way for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls and we’ve got the full rundown on how you can get involved. While access isn’t guaranteed, here are the steps you need to follow.

Although Arc System Works isn’t gearing up for the full release until 2026, fighting game fans have an early opportunity to check out their next game.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls has already proven to be immensely popular, with staggering lines full of eager fans at EVO Vegas 2025. Now, fans at home have a chance to jump into an early build as well.

From the launch date to how you can secure an invite, here’s everything you need to know about the Fighting Souls Closed Beta.

When is the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Closed Beta?

The Closed Beta is set to run from Friday, September 5 through until Sunday, September 7. So it’s a rather limited test spanning just a single weekend.

There’s been no word yet on whether a more open Beta will follow in the near future. For now, this is the only hands-on opportunity fans have.

How to access the Closed Beta

Registrations for the Closed Beta are now live and you can use this link to sign up.

For this particular test, only those on PlayStation 5 can join in. There’s no indication of whether PC players will eventually have a separate Beta period.

Crucially, it’s worth noting that registering doesn’t guarantee access. Closed Beta invitations are being sent out via email in a limited capacity, so a degree of luck is involved.

If you cross your fingers, you might receive an invitation in your inbox (be sure to double check your spam folder to be safe) in the next few weeks.

What’s in the Beta?

Thanks to the Beta announcement trailer, we know to expect a total of six playable characters in the Closed Beta. While the list hasn’t been explicitly confirmed, based on said trailer, it’s safe to expect the following fighters:

  • Captain America
  • Doctor Doom
  • Iron Man
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Star-Lord
  • Storm

In terms of what you’ll be doing, online play has been confirmed, meaning you’ll be able to check out the standard 4v4 match type. Moreover, a “limited” selection of offline matches will also be available alongside a tutorial mode to boot.

Spectating will also be supported in the weekend-long Closed Beta, allowing for community-hosted tournaments to be streamed online.

That’s all there is to know about the Closed Beta for now, but rest assured we’ll update you here with any further details or changes as we get closer to the September 5 kickoff.
