Peak may primarily be a chaotic co-op climbing adventure, but you won’t be able to succeed without a few items you can pick up along your way, like the Remedy Fungus.
Who said mushrooms are bad for you? Okay, sure, some will kill you, but others can do the polar opposite in both real life and Peak. After all, climbing takes a lot out of you, and it’s bound to make you a little peckish.
This is where the Remedy Fungus comes in. However, just like the real world, before you pick it up and start using it, it’s probably important to know what the item does so you don’t make the same mistake many have made with items like the Cursed Skull or the Magic Bean.
So, here’s all you need to know if you’re an avid forager in Peak.
What is the Remedy Fungus
The Remedy Fungus is a vital item to have on your adventures. It will heal you or any other player who decides to use the item.
It essentially creates a healing cloud that will heal anyone who steps inside, meaning multiple players can benefit from the effects. On top of this, it’ll negate any negative effects you’re currently suffering.
As such, you can do the following with the Remedy Fungus:
- Heal an entire party.
- Revive a fallen teammate.
- Negate fall damage.
- Remove any negative status.
How to use
If you do manage to get hold of a Remedy Fungus, then there are two ways you can use it. One will benefit the group, the other will primarily be there to save your own life.
Throw it on the ground
The most common way to use the Remedy Fungus is to hold it, then aim it at your chosen surface and throw.
This will create the healing cloud and allow you and other players the chance to get a little bit of healing.
Keep it in your item slot
Alternatively, if you keep it in your item slot, whenever you take a lot of fall damage, the Remedy Fungus will automatically trigger, healing you and probably keeping you alive, depending on how far you fell.
Of course, this will only benefit you. So it’s ideal for playing solo, or for giving to the clumsiest player on your team.
Can you find the Remedy Fungus?
Unfortunately, there’s no specific way to find the Remedy Fungus. It’s a randomly generated item that will only appear if you’re lucky.
So, we recommend exploring the maps as much as possible, looking out for any white mushrooms growing. It’s purely luck-based, but if you explore most of each map, you’re more likely to come across what you’re looking for.
