Xbox’s Developer Direct is back, bringing tons of gameplay, news, trailers, and more as part of its showcase livestream.
2026 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for games, with GTA 6 on the horizon, Forza Horizon 6 also on the… horizon, and of course, Fable being slated for a release this year following its original announcement back in 2020.
Well, the Xbox Developer Direct aims to showcase some of the top games coming out in the next few years, and promises to offer an inside look into them through gameplay and trailers. It’s also coincidentally Xbox’s 25th anniversary year, so it’s pretty fair to expect a few more announcements than what we know beforehand.
So, if you want to tune in, here’s how to watch it, when it’s happening, and what’s being revealed throughout the show.
When is Developer Direct 2026?
The 2026 Developer Direct will take place on January 22 at 10 am PT, or 1 pm ET / 6 pm GMT / 7 pm CET for those in different time zones.
We’re not certain as to how long the showcase will be, but the last one was just under an hour so we expect this one to be a similar length.
How to watch
You’ll be able to watch the Developer Direct through Twitch or YouTube on the Xbox or Bethesda channels.
When the videos go live, we’ll be sure to add them to this article so you can watch along.
What games will be covered?
Fable
It’s been six years in the making, and even longer since we last got a new Fable game, and it’s finally on its way. Fable will be featured heavily in this Developer Direct, likely bringing a glimpse of gamplay, a new trailer, and “the first extended look.”
Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 is another highly anticipated release from Playground Games, the company behind Fable. We’ll be getting a “debut of gameplay” for the popular racing game, giving us a view of its Japanese location, cars, and more.
Beast of Reincarnation
Lastly, we’ll also see an “in-depth look” at Game Freak’s Beasts of Reinarnation, which was originally announced last year in the Xbox Games Showcase. The action RPG is set to be pretty intense, complete with an adorable dog companion (Koo), some plant manipulation skills, and a beautiful post-apocalyptic Japan setting.
As more games are revealed for the Direct, we’ll be updating this article, so be sure to check back soon.
