Dinosaurus is confirmed to appear in Invincible Season 4, and if you haven’t read the comics, you should prepare yourself for one of its most shocking moments.
We’re not even halfway through the story of Invincible. Season 3 ended at Issue #65, with Conquest locked up in a steel cube (big mistake, obviously), Mark recovering from his injuries, and Rus Livingston and the Sequids lurking underground, waiting to strike.
The fourth season could be one of the most pivotal chapters yet, as it’s expected to feature the Viltrumite War and the introduction of Thragg, the story’s big bad (Kirkman hasn’t confirmed who’ll play him, but fans want it to be this Walking Dead star).
Dinosaurus will also make his debut, voiced by The Americans and Perry Mason star Matthew Rhys. He becomes a major character in the next stage of the story, and if the show is faithful to the comics, things will get… explosive. Spoilers to follow!
Dinosaurus is behind one of the most shocking moments in Invincible
For the uninitiated, Dinosaurus is the villainous, monstrous counterpart of David Anders. When he’s in his normal form, David is perfectly normal – but Dinosaurus is incredibly dangerous, desperate to use his extraordinary intellect for the benefit of mankind – but there’s always a grave cost.
In Issue #80, Eve receives a call about a “big red guy” tearing Las Vegas apart. Mark flies over to stop him, but Dinosaurus doesn’t want to fight him: he wants Mark to help him evacuate the city.
“This city is an abomination on this Earth. It was not meant to be here. A man-made oasis in the middle of a naturally formed desert. In minutes, this city will be nothing more than a memory,” he explains.
“This city is a drain on natural resources of epic proportions. The Colorado River will soon dry up. This region can’t sustain itself. Furthermore, if it were destroyed, the area would be ideal for a solar power station large enough to power this country with clean energy, freeing it from the burden of fossil fuels.”
Mark refuses and quickly finds a bomb, but at this point, Dinosaurus has already planted 50 bombs around the city, and there’s no way Mark can find them before they detonate.
“My plan was to evacuate myself as well. There’s still so much good I could do. A pity,” Dinosaurus says.
Seconds later, Las Vegas is wiped out, leaving nothing but glass; hundreds of thousands of people evaporated in the blink of an eye. “My god, it’s all gone,” Mark reacts.
