Streaming star IShowSpeed has promised to buy a house for the mother of the fan behind the viral ‘my mom’s kinda homeless’ meme in a heartwarming moment.

IShowSpeed is one of the world’s most popular streamers, due in no small part to his hilarious and over-the-top reactions. His vibrant personality has earned him millions of followers on both Twitch and YouTube.

One of these reactions has become so viral that it’s now a widely-used meme on social media, even though it’s several years old.

IShowSpeed ‘my mom’s kinda homeless’ meme explained

Four years ago, Speed was playing Fortnite when his opponent, a 12-year-old fan named ‘Acey,’ began pleading with him to let him win over voice chat, saying his mother was struggling with homelessness.

“Please Speed, I need this!” Acey cried. “My mom is kind of homeless. I live with my dad. I want to help her out.”

In response, Speed stopped playing and closed his eyes, apparently trying not to laugh by scrunching up his face and then pulling a calm, serene expression.

“Speed, I’m watching the stream,” another player chimed in. “Why are you trying not to laugh, bruh? That’s disrespectful as sh*t, bruh!”

While the clip is years old at this point, it’s been rising in popularity as a reaction image lately, to the point where Speed actually got back in contact with the fan from the video.

IShowSpeed reunites with ‘my mom’s kinda homeless’ fan

The two reunited in an October 26 live stream, where Acey revealed that his mom is no longer homeless and is even “kinda financially stable now.” To commemorate the occasion, Speed recreated his outfit from the original stream and invited the other player who poked fun at him for trying not to laugh.

During the stream, Speed faced off with Ayce in a 1v1 game of Fortnite. Their competition had a special condition, though: if Ayce won, Speed would buy his mother a new house.

As it happens, Ayce ended up winning their wager. Speed kept his end of the bargain, revealing the news to Ayce’s mom over the phone and promising that he would buy her a new home in Las Vegas.

“Four years ago, he said you were kind of homeless,” Speed explained. “He said you lived in a halfway house. He did win the wager. The wager was, if he wins, I’ll buy his mom a house in Las Vegas. He won, so I’ll be in contact so we can get you a house, so you won’t be homeless any more.”

The wholesome moment is taking social media by storm, leaving viewers equal parts impressed and emotional over Speed’s charitable gift.

“We really made the right person famous,” one fan wrote on X.

“That’s actually incredible to see,” another said.

“This man just did more for housing than half the politicians out there,” another remarked.
