Twitch streamer JasonTheWeen has completed his seven-day island survival challenge, having raised $20,000 for charity.
The creator spent a full week living on a remote island as part of a livestreamed endurance challenge that saw him attempt to survive with limited resources while broadcasting the experience to viewers.
Over the course of the seven days, Jason streamed the entire challenge on Twitch, uploading highlight reels of each day on his YouTube channel.
Before the counter stopped at the close of the challenge, the total amount of money raised for charity through donations amounted to $20,957.22.
JasonTheWeen shows weight loss after island survival challenge
After finishing the challenge, Jason removed his shirt to reveal how much weight he’d lost during the seven days.
Jason’s February 21 post on X/Twitter showed body weight comparisons from before and after the challenge. The exact amount of weight lost isn’t known, although he said before leaving the island that he had lost muscle mass and developed red rash-like marks all over his body, presumably caused by insect bites.
“This is my weight loss. Lost muscle. Lost a lot. Gained a lot of f**king red bumps around me, on my back, and it’s even worse on my legs, feet, and hands,” he said, before proceeding to draw his stream-name initials, JTW, in the sand while awaiting pick-up by boat.
When asked by a viewer if the challenge was harder than he had anticipated, Jason said, “Uh yes. I didn’t think the sand fleas would be as bad as they were. They got me good. That’s what made the challenge ten times harder.”
