WWE legend John Cena praised Logan Paul as being “underrated” and ‘belonging’ in the world of professional wrestling, despite some fans hating him.
Logan Paul first started his work with the WWE back in 2021, but didn’t get involved in a match until 2022. However, it was obvious from the start that the YouTuber and imPaulsive podcast host was a natural.
Since that initial run, ‘The Maverick’ has propelled himself in some high-profile matches, held WWE titles, and become a key part of the shows. Yet, some fans still haven’t been won over and keep on viewing him as an ‘outsider’.
Logan has won plenty of praise from current and former wrestlers, with the biggest endorsement coming from John Cena. The 17-time World Champion believes that Logan “belongs” in the pro wrestling world.
John Cena believes Logan Paul is “underrated” in WWE
“I think he’s got a very good chance because he’s really good at WWE. I know a lot of people in this room don’t like him. He’s not a very likeable guy,” Cena told fans during a Q&A at Fan Expo Chicago.
“I disagree, I think he’s underrated. I think he gets a bad rap. He’s not an outsider, he belongs in WWE. I think his best days are still ahead of him, he’s got championships in his future. I can tell you I’m not looking past Logan Paul, and I’m not believing any of the hype that he’s an outsider who should be taken lightly. I’m training hard.”
Cena also pivoted to building up their match at Clash in Paris, which sees Logan being given the chance to be one of Cena’s final few opponents.
The WWE legend, who has since gone on to star as Peacemaker, is retiring at the end of the year. Giving Logan a win would boost his future stock in a big way, but it remains to be seen if that’ll happen.
