NBA star Kevin Durant praised IShowSpeed for having a “tough job” as a streamer, and also gave him a shoutout for his athletic prowess.
Whenever he’s live on stream, IShowSpeed isn’t afraid of bigging up his athletic credentials. Speed believes he could compete at the Olympics in the 100 metre sprint, but he’s also got some pretty impressive gymnastic skills, too.
The YouTube streaming star has linked up with a number of professional athletes too, taking advice from them on how to get better, and even competing alongside them in some cases.
NBA star Kevin Durant was the latest to join Speed in competition, with the pair teaming up in a 2-on-2 basketball game for his Speed Goes Pro series.
Kevin Durant praises “athlete” IShowSpeed
Despite some disputes on the court about their game, Durant was keen to praise Speed for his work and skills.
“Speed is just an athlete, man, he can do it all, and I’ve built a solid relationship with him, dating back to two years ago when we did a podcast together, did a commercial together, so this is our third thing,” the two-time NBA champion said.
“Streamers and guys creating content every day, man. That’s a tough job to do. I’ve really got respect for what Speed brings to the culture, and that was fun.”
As noted, Durant isn’t the only professional that Speed has linked up with. The streamer has raced Noah Lyles, gotten football advice from Tom Brady, and gotten to meet his hero, Cristiano Ronaldo.
He has also competed in WWE, which is a bit of a shift from his usual athletic competitions, but that still showed just how versatile Speed is.
It remains to be seen who he’ll impress next, but he is winning fans from across the sports world.
