Kim Kardashian says artificial intelligence may have cost her a passing grade on her law exams, admitting she relied on ChatGPT for study help that turned out to be wrong.
During a lie detector segment with Teyana Taylor, Kardashian revealed she frequently used OpenAI’s chatbot for legal advice while preparing for her bar studies, only to find that it often gave inaccurate information.
“I use it for legal advice,” she said. “So when I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and put it in there. They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests.”

The SKIMS founder laughed as she explained the back-and-forth relationship she’s developed with the AI tool, calling it a “toxic friend.” “Then I’ll get mad and yell at it — ‘You made me fail!’” she joked. “And it will talk back and say, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts.’”
Kardashian has been open about her path toward becoming a certified attorney, saying last week on The Graham Norton Show that she expects to receive her bar results within two weeks and hopes to eventually “give up being Kim K” to work as a trial lawyer.
Despite her rocky experience with ChatGPT, the reality star said the AI’s responses have turned into an unexpected source of motivation. “She’s teaching me a life lesson,” Kardashian said. “Then becoming my therapist to tell me why I need to believe in myself after they got the answer wrong.”
