KPop Demon Hunters is so popular that Halloween costumes for the animated movie’s characters are flying off shelves, causing a shortage right in the middle of spooky season.

KPop Demon Hunters is Netflix’s most-viewed movie of all time, breaking records on the streaming service and even earning parodies on Saturday Night Live.

With a line of toys from Barbie-maker Mattel on the way and a viral Fortnite collab secured, Netflix’s animated juggernaut is, of course, a fan-favorite for Halloween costumes this year.

Cosplayers were already quick to recreate the demon-slaying K-pop trio from the film, but now that Halloween is on the horizon, both kiddos and adults are keen on dressing up as the fictional pop stars and their arch-nemeses, the Saja Boys.

Unfortunately, this might prove a bit difficult, as reports state that KPop Demon Hunters-themed Halloween costumes are in a major shortage right now.

Spirit Halloween sells out of KPop Demon Hunters costumes

The cause? The movie is just too popular, and demand for the costumes is higher than what’s in supply. In fact, the top five most-searched Halloween costumes on Google are all from KPop Demon Hunters, with Rumi, Zoey, Mira, Jinu, and Baby Saja, leading search results.

While anyone can make their own costume from scratch, fans are clamoring for the official Netflix-sponsored outfits available at Spirit Halloween, but the retailer simply didn’t get enough stock to satisfy the sheer amount of customers hoping to snag some for trick-or-treating.

Netflix even acknowledged the trend in a billboard, thanking fans for ‘dressing up, up, up this Halloween,’ referencing Huntrix’s Billboard Top 100 hit ‘Golden.’

Spirit Halloween representative Marisa Simonson issued a statement about the shortage to Business Insider, saying “the initial release was offered in limited quantities and has seen incredible demand.”

That being said, there’s still oodles of other, non-official KPop Demon Hunters costumes online as Halloween approaches at the end of the week.
