Liquid Death has teamed up with Spotify to launch a new product called the Eternal Playlist Urn, combining a cremation urn with a built-in wireless speaker designed to play music after death.
The collaboration introduces what the brands describe as the first urn with an embedded Bluetooth speaker, allowing users to connect to playlists directly through Spotify. The product is being marketed as part novelty, part memorial item, tying together music streaming and end-of-life personalization.
Alongside the physical product, Spotify is also rolling out a new digital feature called the Eternal Playlist Generator, giving users a way to build personalized playlists intended to match their “eternal vibe.”
Spotify launches Eternal Playlist Generator to pair with Liquid Death urn
The Eternal Playlist Urn measures approximately 7 x 7 x 11 inches and weighs 2.4 pounds. A wireless Bluetooth speaker is built into the lid and includes USB-C charging. According to product details, the design is intended to be minimal and respectful, allowing it to be placed in a home, columbarium, or similar setting.
Liquid Death’s promotional campaign frames the product around the idea of keeping music playing beyond life, with messaging centered on continuing to enjoy favorite songs after death. The urn can connect to playlists created through Spotify, including those generated using the new Eternal Playlist tool.
Spotify’s Eternal Playlist Generator is available to listeners in the United States. Users can access it through the dedicated webpage and answer a short series of prompts such as “What’s your getting ready to haunt music?” or “What’s your eternal vibe?”
Based on responses and individual listening preferences on Spotify, the tool generates a personalized playlist. Users can then listen to or share their Eternal Playlist, while owners of the Eternal Playlist Urn can sync the playlist directly to the built-in speaker.
Anyone looking to use one can pick one up at Liquid Death’s website for $495.
