Footage of a massive Halloween block party is going viral on social media, showing hundreds of attendees in a moshpit and drawing comparisons to the movie ‘Project X.’
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were dispatched to Woodland Hills, CA on Friday, October 31 after receiving calls from residents on Oakdale Avenue complaining about noise from a holiday bash in the area.
What they discovered was far more than just a rowdy get-together. Footage obtained by local news outlet KTLA 5 shows a huge throng of party-goers living it up to celebrate Halloween.
In fact, KTLA estimates that “hundreds, if not thousands” of people were in attendance, with videos showing a crowd of people packed shoulder-to-shoulder while loud music played in the background.
Some were dressed in festive costumes, and a giant mosh pit opened up in the center of the crowd as partiers danced to a variety of different high-energy songs. They weren’t even deterred after a police helicopter showed up and shone a massive spotlight on the gathering.
All good things must come to an end, though, and police managed to successfully break up the party — though reports state that attendees left “many piles of garbage” behind.
No arrests were made, but KTLA says that one person was possibly hospitalized.

Footage from the Halloween bash quickly spread across social media, earning comparisons to the 2012 found-footage comedy flick ‘Project X.’ In the movie, two high school students throw a house party that gets extremely out of hand, resulting in a massive turnout not unlike the party the LAPD shut down on Halloween.
Responses from social media have surprisingly been quite positive, although some sympathize with the neighbors who had to deal with the incident.
“Let these kids be kids, bruh,” one wrote.
“One of the dopest movies of all time,” another said, referencing Project X. “I love that it still inspires the youth, no matter what generation, to recreate it.”
At the time of writing, no details about the organization or inspiration of the party have been discovered — but funnily enough, this isn’t the only bash that has been compared to the movie.
