Buying an Amazon return pallet is usually a roll of the dice, but one Reddit user just hit the kind of result most PC builders could only dream of.

In a post titled “Hit the jackpot with Amazon return pallets,” the shopper revealed they paid $100 for a pallet and ended up with 40 sticks of 16GB DDR5 RAM, admitting they had no idea what was inside before opening it.

It is a staggering pull, especially given current market conditions, where RAM has been in short supply thanks to the increase in AI hardware, which demands high-end RAM to run. As such, RAM prices have skyrocketed, with many reaching upwards of $200 for a single stick.

Each stick sells for around $205 at retail, meaning the total resale value of that pallet would come in at around $8,000. When the user spent just $100 on the pallet, it’s easy to see why fans were extremely jealous.

“So it appears OP has some RAM to sell to people now,” joked one player, while another asked, “You gonna sell them?” The original poster responded: “Honestly, I’m too shocked to even think about that right now, I’m just enjoying the beauty.”

Amazon return pallets are typically made up of returned, overstocked, or unclaimed items that are sold in bulk through liquidation marketplaces. Buyers rarely know exactly what they are getting, and the contents can range from high-value electronics to broken or incomplete products.

Anyone can purchase them through approved liquidation sites and resellers, but the risk sits entirely with the buyer, since you don’t know what you’re getting.

Despite the success story, not everyone believed the poster’s claims. “All these people getting mass boxes of DDR 5 during a supposed shortage… I call horses**t,” one user wrote, while another said, “These posts are fake af.” A third added, “Pressing X for doubt on this one.”

Whether it is a once-in-a-lifetime score or simply too good to be true, it’s hard to deny just how good of a haul this amount of RAM would be.
