Hasbro has unveiled a brand new Magic: The Gathering crossover with SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog, launching three distinct Secret Lair drops inspired by the Blue Blur and his iconic universe.
The latest crossover goes on sale July 14, 2025, when the Secret Lair x Sonic the Hedgehog series reimagines classic MTG cards with themed artwork, including contributions from fan-favorite Sonic artists making their Magic debut.
This marks another high-profile collab for Magic: The Gathering, which has teamed up with franchises like Fallout, Final Fantasy, and Jurassic Park. With Sonic joining the lineup, fans can expect even more chaos, charm, and crossover potential in their next deck.
Sonic MTG collab
The first drop, Friends & Foes, introduces brand-new card designs featuring Sonic, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Tails, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, and Super Sonic represented with unique Magic mechanics and art.
Next is Chasing Adventure, which gives a fresh spin to established Magic staples. This drop includes reskins of cards like Sol Ring, Generous Gift, and Deadly Dispute, all themed around Sonic’s fast-paced world.
Rounding out the trio is Turbo Gear, a set of Sonic-styled artifacts that pair perfectly with the Friends & Foes set. Highlights include The Reaver Cleaver as “Knuckles’s Gloves,” Lightning Greaves as “Power Sneakers,” and Weatherlight transformed into “Tornado, Sonic’s Biplane.”
Each drop will be available in both regular and foil editions for a limited time, so you’ll need to be as fast as the blue blur if you want to get your hands on this collab when it goes on sale on July 14.
