Rockstar Games has confirmed that an assortment of leaked GTA 6 info is accurate in a statement discussing why developers were fired from the studio.

In late 2025, Rockstar Games fired dozens of employees for “gross misconduct,” alleging they had leaked an assortment of details about unannounced projects.

While some accused the studio of “union-busting,” leading to protests, Rockstar has reiterated that it has a zero-tolerance policy for sharing confidential information.

According to IGN, Rockstar noted that it fired a staff member in Lincoln, UK in April 2025 for allegedly sharing confidential GTA 6 information with a third party who later posted it on social media. The company also confirmed it dismissed a US employee in November 2023, and another in India in November 2025 over two separate information leaks.

Based on this timeline, there were a couple of key leaks that occurred. Although they weren’t fully verified at the time, these comments by Rockstar add some major credibility to their legitimacy.

GTA VI gameplay leaks appear to have been confirmed by Rockstar

In April 2025, ahead of GTA 6’s second trailer, social media user Gameroll leaked the last names of the game’s main characters, Jason and Lucia.

Following this, he proceeded to reveal an assortment of additional info about the game once the last names were confirmed to be accurate in trailer 2.

Information shared by Gameroll stated that players will be able to roam with Jason by himself, Lucia by herself, or the two at the same time.

There are over 700 stores, including malls. And they’ll be robbable. When it comes to locations, the leaker shared little detail, but claimed GTA 6 will include male strippers, suggesting strip clubs won’t be limited to female dancers.

Gameroll also noted that “warehouse robots” – something players spotted in the 2022 leaks – had been cut back in 2023.

He added that vehicle trunks will work much like horse storage in Red Dead Redemption 2, letting players stash and retrieve weapons directly from their cars.

That said, the rumored dual-wielding feature is not happening. Fans hoping for Max Payne-style gunfights may be left disappointed.

However, gunfights will still be extremely entertaining, because the 6-star Wanted level is set to return, with VI building off RDR2’s gore and dismemberment.

The leaker also claims their source said GTA 6 will feature five chapters, though it’s unclear whether that total includes a prologue or epilogue.

Gameroll further stated that the fifth chapter was being reworked. This is something that may have been backed up by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who revealed that Rockstar will still working on missions for the game.

Grand Theft Auto 6 story leaks may have been real all along

In addition to Gameroll’s leaks, in October 2023, a user on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours made a post detailing some of GTA 6’s early story info.

The user claimed their source said Lucia has a baby that she abandons at a delicatessen before taking part in a bank robbery, which leads to her arrest. The leaker says the baby’s gender is unknown and insists there are no children in gameplay, with the moment only appearing in a flashback cutscene. They also claim they have no information on what happens to the baby afterward.

After several years, Lucia is reportedly released on probation and picked up from prison by Jason, who is already planning a robbery with her. According to the leak, the pair gradually fall in love.

The leaker also stated the opening mission puts players in control of Jason, following a plane carrying a Russian drug dealer as it lands. Jason allegedly meets the dealer and plans a drug heist, which goes wrong when police intervene and the drugs fall into the ocean. A later mission reportedly has players diving to recover them.

These comments were even backed up by YouTuber LegacyKillaHD, who said “a lot of the intro was already leaked on Reddit.”

LegacyKilla noted how, although GTA 6 will be more “grounded” than GTA 5, there will still be over-the-top missions that fans have come to expect from the franchise, with some even inspired by the Fast & Furious movies.

In particular, he pointed to Fast 5’s vault police chase scene, something that would appear to be confirmed in a clip from the second trailer.

It’s not clear if all of these details are fully accurate, as many things could have changed in the meantime, but they provide some big insight into just how massive GTA 6 will be when it’s finally released.
