McDonald’s is set to reduce the price of eight popular combo meals across the United States by about 15 percent, aiming to bring more value back to its menu. The move comes as the chain works with franchisees to address rising costs for customers.

The company has reached an agreement with U.S. franchise operators to offer the deal, with McDonald’s offering financial support to franchises that agree to take part.

Alongside the lower costs, McDonald’s will launch a $5 breakfast choice and an $8 Big Mac or McNuggets combo. The lower-priced meals are scheduled to begin rolling out in early September 2025.

The changes come after reports of some Big Mac combos reaching as high as $18 at select locations earlier this year.

Background on McDonald’s value strategy

This is the latest step in McDonald’s broader effort to re-emphasize value for diners. The chain has already introduced the McValue menu, which features offers such as “Buy One, Add One for $1,” alongside app-exclusive promotions like free fries on Fridays.

McDonald’s also has the McValue menu in the US, with various sandwiches, McFlurry’s, and more available for a discounted price.

It also features specific $5 meal deals with each one featuring either a McDouble or McChicken, a four-piece McNugget, fries, and a drink.
