Minecrafts next game drop is officially complete and is set to release very soon, but the community isn’t exactly thrilled about its contents.
Now that Minecraft has transitioned over to smaller game drops released more regularly throughout the year, instead of a yearly massive update, fans have been enjoying new biomes like the Pale Garden, new mobs like the Happy Ghast, and various added features from wolf armor, Copper Golems, and even full trials for more loot.
The next update (labelled the baby mob update by many) is set to release soon, but fans aren’t pleased about it, calling it the “worst drop yet” and wishing it had more new features.
Minecraft fans slam “worst drop yet”
After the complete update was revealed on the Minecraft website, many in the community took to social media to slam its upcoming features, expressing their disappointment regarding its simplicity.
“This is the lamest drop yet,” commented one user, while another echoed the sentiment, adding: “Retexture and bugfixes. Not even new animations for the new babies. This would be nice as a secondary feature. Not the entire drop. They really gave up 1 big themed update a year for this?”
Others were quick to comment on the added features, lamenting about the fact that most of the changes seem to be bug fixes and reskins: “wdym just one thing added, and everything else are bug fixes lmao,” added one fan. Another wrote: “The Nothing Update is finally complete. Even 1.10 (Frostburn) back in the old days of Minecraft offered more than this.”
“As nice as it is to get new mobs, this is by far the worst drop yet,” wrote another player, expressing their love for the new baby mobs being added, but still slamming their contents.
Others echoed the same idea, praising the added baby mobs and their reskins, as well as the multiple bug fixes, but recognising the frustration among plenty of the community: “The players who just build and want cute decorations love this update. The tech players love this update as it’s a massive behind-the-scenes overhaul and is great for server admins and datapack makers. But for the middle 90%, this must be the most underwhelming update since 1.19.”
Despite the frustration, there are players who are thrilled regarding the new mobs and addition of the Golden Dandelion, explaining: “Everyone bashing on this drop, but it adds tons of immersion… idk why people complain so much.”
