Country music star Morgan Wallen urged police to “turn up” his own song after it came on the radio while he was being arrested in the back of a police car.

In April 2024, Morgan Wallen was charged with reckless endangerment after he threw a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar. The country music star initially denied the charge, but apologized for his actions and ultimately pleaded guilty to two charges in December 2024.

“I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” the ‘Last Night’ singer posted on social media a few weeks after the incident.

The release of bodycam footage from his arrest had been requested by the Associated Press for a while, and it was finally released in September. That includes a clip that went gone viral of Wallen being arrested while his own song plays in the background.

The Metro Nashville Police Department released the footage of Wallen’s arrest, incluidng him denying the charge, and urging them to call fellow country star Eric Church – who owned the bar he was in.

Ultimately, the police managed to put Wallen in handcuffs and get him into the back of a patrol car, where he was greeted by his own song.

“This is me and Thomas Rhett! Turn it up. That’s me and TR! That’s me right there,” he said before breaking into a short burst of the song himself. “Come on now, me and TR!”

“TR is one of the best dudes in the world. He would definitely not be getting arrested,” the singer added.

As noted, the clip has been shared across social media since its release by police. Plenty of fans claimed it is “iconic” to be arrested with your own song as the soundtrack.

In another clip, Wallen urged the police to drive away from the scene as he was being snapped by fans while in the patrol car.
