Kai Cenat was caught off guard during day 28 of his Mafiathon 3 stream when MrBeast himself donated 200 gifted subscriptions and then called to clear the air over their Team Water controversy.
Cenat, one of Twitch’s biggest streamers, has been broadcasting nonstop throughout September for his latest subathon challenge, reaching one million subscribers. On September 28, an account named “MrBeast6000” dropped a massive donation in his chat, prompting Cenat to comment on the ongoing chatter around MrBeast’s global Team Water charity initiative.
“I can’t fake it, man. I f**k with Jimmy. Jimmy cool,” Kai said on stream. “That motherf**king stuff that was pulled last month was a little fishy. Hey, listen, no hard feelings, though. I’m just being real, but shout out to Jimmy, man.”
Kai was referring to a tweet in which Jimmy prodded at xQc and Kai Cenat to donate to TeamWater to prove which streamer was “the richest.”
MrBeast calls in to squash the beef
Shortly after, MrBeast phoned Cenat live on stream to congratulate him on surpassing one million subscribers and to directly address the tension.
“I don’t know why I have two Kai Cenats saved [in my phone],” Jimmy said. “I called you and texted you quite a bit, but I didn’t realize until a week ago that it was your old number. And I reached out to your manager. I was like, dang, does Kai hate me? And he’s like, no. And then I asked for your number. And I was like oh, sh*t. I’ve been texting the wrong number this whole time.”
Cenat admitted he had felt “a way” about how things unfolded, but appreciated the effort to reach out. MrBeast explained that some fans were using Cenat’s lack of participation in Team Water to smear him, which he thought was “f**king stupid,” adding: “There are causes I don’t support too. Not everyone can be involved in everything.”
The two laughed off the miscommunication, with Cenat ending the call by telling viewers: “That’s why I f**k with Jimmy.”
