MrBeast calls AI videos “scary” for YouTube creators

Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson believes it is “scary times” for YouTubers as AI-generated videos are becoming “as good as normal” content.

The battle between AI (artificial intelligence) and actual manpower has been going on for decades. Machines have been used to help with car manufacturing, prompting real people to lose their jobs, and it has only become bigger.

In recent years, AI-generated content has become increasingly more common on the internet. It started off small, with AI being used on photo filters, but it can now generate life-like videos and do plenty of video editing for you.

That has worried plenty of content creators, especially those who don’t have massive budgets to work with. However, even YouTube’s biggest star, MrBeast, is a little bit worried.

MrBeast fears for YouTube as AI improvements are “scary times”

Following the rise of AI videos from OpenAI’s Sora 2, which have started looking more lifelike and real, MrBeast took to X (formerly Twitter) to weigh in on things.

“When AI videos are just as good as normal videos, I wonder what that will do to YouTube and how it will impact the millions of creators currently making content for a living.. scary times,” he posted.

Donaldson had previously asked, “What do we do now?” after fellow YouTuber Casey Neistat claimed things were “so cooked” following Sora 2’s release.

While the AI videos have become increasingly more realistic, there are still plenty of ways to tell the difference between them and a real video.

The biggest telltale sign is the floating Sora logo that dances around the screen on any generated video. If a video manages to crop out the watermark, there are other signs too, including weird text and people having more than five fingers on their hands.
