A video editor on MrBeast’s team has been accused of insider trading, allegedly betting on the prediction platform Kalshi while having access to information before it went public. He has been fined $20,000 USD, and Beast Industries has launched its own investigation.
While Kalshi supports more traditional sports betting, the online platform also allows users to bet on other, more obscure real-world events. One particular avenue revolves around MrBeast and his content, with markets for predicting the duration of his next video, whether he’ll mention certain brands, and the like.
Kalshi announced on February 25, 2026, that two users suspected of violating the platform’s rules had been suspended. Among them was Artem Kaptur, an editor on MrBeast’s team.
The Beast Industries employee allegedly traded around $4,000 USD on markets related to MrBeast’s content. He has since been fined $20,000 USD and banned for two years due to alleged activity on Kalshi.
MrBeast editor accused of insider trading
“No financial exchange is immune from bad actors,” Kalshi’s Head of Enforcement and Legal Counsel Bobby DeNault said. “Not stock exchanges, not banks, not prediction markets.
“We’re committed to deterring and finding the bad actors, manipulators, and those who willingly cheat.”
Kaptur, a video editor with credits not just on MrBeast’s YouTube content, but also on Prime Video’s Beast Games series, was accused of betting while having access to “non-public information” obtained by working as part of Beast Industries.
The editor’s allegedly “near-perfect” activity on the betting market was flagged by Kalshi’s own systems as being “statistically anomalous.” This coincided with other users on the platforms also reporting Kaptur’s track record.
A spokesperson for Beast Industries told the BBC it “has no tolerance for this behaviour, whether by contestants or our own employees”.
MrBeast’s company claims to have a policy restricting employees from using proprietary information. Beast Industries has since launched an independent investigation.
