Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has responded to his “worst performing” YouTube video, after he predicted it wouldn’t take off like some of his others.

Alongside his extravagant YouTube video, MrBeast has become known for his philanthropy work too. The YouTube superstar has a channel, MrBeast Philanthropy, where all the revenue goes to funding further charity work.

Donaldson has previously addressed backlash over monetizing those videos, noting that the work wouldn’t get done without the money. He’s also said he is happy to keep helping people, even if the videos don’t bring in the same number of viewers as his regular uploads.

On February 15, he predicted that his next upload – I built 10 schools around the world – would actually become the “worst performing video” that he’s uploaded in years.

MrBeast even predicted his “worst performing” YouTube video

That video finally dropped on February 21, with it lagging way behind some of his other uploads for the number of views that come in during the first 24 hours.

“Basically how I thought it’d perform,” Donaldson posted on X (formerly Twitter), showing off the stats behind the video’s initial performance.

“Doesn’t matter though, I freaken love this video and honestly one of my favorite to make. Feels weird filming videos I know will perform long term 70% worse than others but idc if it gets 0 views I just want to help people in need.”

As of writing, MrBeast’s video has eclipsed 27 million views, which is a pretty big outlier for his recent videos. His previous video before this one, Ages 1 – 100 Race For $250,000, has racked up over 66 million views.

Both of those, even combined, are behind the 100-million-view average from his run of videos before that.

As noted, Donaldson’s charitable videos aren’t going to slow down, even if the views do. “It breaks my heart that over 200 million children don’t have access to safe education and I hope this video inspires more people to get involved and help kids learn all around the world,” he posted on his own video.
