YouTube stars IShowSpeed and MrBeast have revealed how they deal with hate while having the success that they have.
No matter how successful you are online, there is always going to be someone who disagrees and tries to critique your content. This is especially prevalent the more successful you become, with critics waiting for a downfall.
As two of the most successful creators around, MrBeast and IShowSpeed were quizzed on this during their appearance at Joy Festival in Saudi Arabia.
“It got to me, to a point, early in my career,” Speed said about hateful comments. “As for growing on the internet and streaming for the past five years, I’ve gotten better at it. You could do the best thing in the world, and somebody will still nitpick and say anything bad about that.”

Speed added that “you can’t listen to it,” which MrBeast somewhat agreed with.
“At the scale our audience is, someone is always going to have an issue with what you’re doing,” Donaldson noted. “It’s a percentage game. If there are only 100 negative comments and 10,000 positive ones, you know you did something right. Very few things in the world can you get 99% of people to agree on.
“That’s where a lot of people run into issues, is they’ll read 20 or 30 comments, see two or three negative ones and won’t zoom out and look at the macro and realise it’s only a very small percentage.”
MrBeast added that he does, at times, “get emotional” reading some of the comments his videos get, but tries to focus on it as “objective feedback” that he’ll try to apply to future content.
